GOOD NEWS: Boston Celtics Announce The Signing Of Another Top Experience Superstar Player Froom

**Boston Celtics Secure 2024 Draft Picks with Two-Way Agreement for Anton Watson**

The Boston Celtics have secured their roster by officially signing both rookies selected in the 2024 NBA Draft. On Friday, the team announced a two-way contract with Anton Watson, the 54th overall pick. Watson, who spent five years at Gonzaga, averaged 14.5 points and 7.1 rebounds with a 57.8% shooting percentage in his final college season. His defensive versatility was a key factor during Boston’s Summer League, leaving a strong first impression of NBA-level play.

Reflecting on his Summer League experience, Watson stated, “I felt good overall,” according to CLNS Media. “The whole Summer League just kind of seeing how it feels and playing at this level of pace, the strength you gotta have and just felt good overall. I felt like I played good.”

In Las Vegas, Watson played five games, averaging 11.8 points and 5.2 rebounds. His engagement on both ends of the court and his athleticism were evident. He kept in constant motion with Boston’s ball-handlers, creating openings for easy baskets and demonstrating his ability to hit shots from beyond the arc. Although this might not secure him a permanent spot on the Celtics’ bench, Watson’s development will continue with the team’s G League affiliate in Maine, offering him ample opportunity to refine his skills for potential NBA play under head coach Joe Mazzulla.

Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens was not deterred by Watson’s age, despite selecting two 23-year-old prospects, including Baylor Scheierman. Stevens emphasized the team’s strategy of only drafting players they felt confident and comfortable with at the time of selection.

“First of all, I think guys are playing longer,” Stevens said post-draft at Auerbach Center. “So 23 and 24 is still young in the big picture of things. I think that both of those guys have shown good growth throughout their careers and so you would anticipate they would continue to grow.”

Watson’s impressive college stats and promising Summer League performance position him as a valuable addition to the Celtics. As he continues to develop in the G League, Watson remains a key prospect for Boston, ready to contribute whenever the opportunity arises.
