SAD NEWS: Boston Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazzulla Just Confirm The Departure Of Fan Favorite Top Experience Star Player Due To……

Oshae Brissett, fresh off an NBA championship win with the Boston Celtics in June, is currently a free agent. After declining his $2.46 million option for the 2024-25 season and opting out of playing for Team Canada in the Olympics, Brissett is exploring his options in the market. Despite entering free agency, he has not ruled out a return to the Celtics.

In his YouTube show “BrissyTV,” Brissett discussed his current situation, saying, “I’m still a free agent now, talking to some teams. You guys will all see obviously when it happens, where I end up. That’s full transparency, man.” He expressed his fondness for the Celtics, adding, “I love every single part about being a Boston Celtic. And I could go back, who freakin’ knows? Hey, the door’s not closed fully. There’s still a spot on the team. Who knows?”

Brissett’s openness to various opportunities, including a potential return to Boston, highlights his readiness to find the best fit for his career moving forward.Report: Oshae Brissett declines player option, will hit free agency

The Boston Celtics have retained most of their championship-winning roster for the 2024-25 season, with only a few bench players not returning. Key players like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have secured their supermax contracts, while Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis have also extended their deals. Al Horford has confirmed his return for next season.

It remains uncertain if the Celtics will attempt to re-sign Oshae Brissett, but having depth on the roster is always advantageous. Depth played a crucial role in their 2023-24 championship run, evident in instances such as Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, where coach Joe Mazzulla benched his starters in the second half of a loss.

Brissett reflected on his time with the Celtics as his “best season,” not solely due to winning Banner 18 but because of his personal growth on and off the court. He attributed much of his development to being around Hall of Fame-caliber players.

“Watching literal Hall of Famers all day, practicing with Hall of Famers, you grow. I’m a sponge, a basketball sponge. I like to learn things,” Brissett said. “That, to me, was the reason I would say that was the best season of my career.”

There is still ample time for Brissett to secure a spot in free agency, whether that means returning to Boston or joining another team.
