Los Angeles Rams fans were alarmed when star wide receiver Puka Nacua was sidelined with a knee injury during training camp. Head coach Sean McVay quickly addressed concerns, explaining the situation and alleviating fears.
“Yeah, he got his knee banged up,” McVay stated. “[He] really just had a little bit of a bursa sac, kind of burst it. It’s just going to be week-to-week with him. Nothing serious [or] nothing structurally. He’ll be in good shape.”
McVay assured that the injury would not impact Nacua’s availability for the season opener against the Detroit Lions.
“He’ll be in good shape,” McVay reiterated. “He’ll recover, and we’ll be ready to go. There’s no threat of anything for Detroit.”
Initially, the Rams’ week-to-week designation for Nacua’s knee left some ambiguity, causing concern about whether the injury might affect the early part of the season. However, it now appears that the Rams’ offense dodged a significant issue, and Nacua is expected to be ready for the season opener in Detroit.
