The Miami HEAT announced that Josh Richardson successfully underwent right shoulder surgery today to address shoulder instability. The 90-minute labrum repair was conducted by Dr. Harlan Selesnick, with assistance from Dr. Frantz Lerebours, at the Doctors Hospital Ambulatory Surgical Center. As a result of the surgery, Richardson will miss the rest of the season, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
Richardson played in 43 games this season for the HEAT, including six starts. During this time, he averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists over 25.6 minutes per game. He also shot 44.4 percent from the field and achieved a career-best free-throw percentage of 94.4 percent.
