Kansas State has secured a verbal commitment from Brad Stanyer, a 2025 defensive end prospect from Grapevine High School in Texas. After visiting Kansas State for their season opener against UT-Martin, Stanyer, an overlooked but talented player in Texas’ 5A classification, decided to commit to the Wildcats. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Stanyer brings size and potential to Kansas State’s defensive line, and his commitment is seen as a significant steal for the program.

Before committing to Kansas State, Stanyer had scholarship offers from several FBS schools, including Air Force, Army, and Texas State. He caught the attention of Kansas State’s coaching staff, particularly defensive line coach Buddy Wyatt, during the school’s Elite Camp on June 23rd. Although it took about a month for Kansas State to extend an official offer, the coaching staff was highly interested in Stanyer, and their pursuit became serious.

Stanyer quickly arranged a return visit to Manhattan, Kansas, which ultimately sealed the deal. His experience during the visit was impactful, and he described it as unique, enjoying his time interacting with Kansas State players and getting a sense of the program’s culture.

Already experienced in playing in an odd-man defensive front for his high school team, Stanyer brings a balanced skill set to the Wildcats. He has shown an ability to rush the passer, hold his ground against the run, and display flexibility and power for someone his size. Although he is currently unrated, Stanyer is seen as a prospect with significant potential who is far from a developmental project.

Stanyer’s commitment helps Kansas State fill two immediate scholarship spots left by departing seniors Brendan Mott and Cody Stufflebean. The Wildcats see similarities between Stanyer and a recent addition, Ryan Davis, who made a strong impression in his debut for the Wildcats while Stanyer was in attendance.

With Stanyer’s commitment, Kansas State’s 2025 recruiting class now stands at 18 members. Once Stanyer receives his rating from 247Sports and other recruiting services, Kansas State’s class is expected to continue ranking among the nation’s top 50. His addition bolsters an already promising group of future Wildcats and adds depth to Kansas State’s defensive line for the coming years.
