The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) today announced that through an over-the-air (OTA) deal with Millennial Telecommunications’ WJYS TV, fans and viewers throughout the Chicagoland region will have access to Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls, White Sox, and the rest of CHSN programming.
The teams’ home games will be broadcast on Channels 62.2 and 62.3. Starting on October 1, both channels will switch to HD and air CHSN programs nonstop. When two teams are playing at the same time, it is possible to broadcast both games concurrently on two digital channels.
The president of Chicago Sports Network, Jason Coyle, stated, “Fan-first has been our north star.” We are enabling our followers to watch our content on the platforms where it is available. The chance to watch the games and forge even closer bonds with their favorite teams and personalities is now available to households that, for whatever reason, decide to watch primarily over the air.”
To watch the games, residents of the approximately 600,000 Chicago Designated Market Area (DMA) homes without pay-TV subscription will need to purchase an over-the-air antenna capable of receiving every channel. For information on choosing, installing, and channel-scanning, see this website. After CHSN officially launches, households that currently utilize an over-the-air antenna will need to perform a new scan of accessible channels. Visit CHSN.com for a comprehensive FAQ on where to get and how to install a digital antenna.
Locally televised regular season games, a few preseason games, and a few postseason contests will all be included in CHSN’s broadcast schedule. The network will offer top-notch pre- and postgame shows, in-depth analysis from seasoned sports commentators, and multisport programming around-the-clock in addition to live game broadcasts. Modern, fan-immersive studios at Chicago’s United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field will serve as CHSN’s broadcast locations.
The network will debut on October 1st with preseason games between the Blackhawks and Bulls, as originally announced. In March 2025, the inaugural CHSN White Sox game will air on television. NBC Sports Chicago will continue to broadcast all of the White Sox games in 2024 that are scheduled to end on September 29.
A collaborative venture between the three teams and Standard Media, CHSN will, subject to league approvals, cover a sizable portion of the Midwest, including Illinois as well as portions of Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
