Just under a week after his visit, defensive line coach Gerald Chatman delivered the good news that Florida was officially offering him a scholarship.
Griffin reflected on the moment, explaining, “When I visited for their last home game, they didn’t mention anything about an offer, but they told me I was on their radar. They loved the film I’ve had as a senior, but wanted to see more of me throughout the season.” Griffin, who had been working hard to impress on the field, felt the breakthrough came after a standout performance the previous Thursday. “I had a really good game last Thursday. I feel like they saw a great player in me and recognized my potential. So they went ahead and pulled the trigger. I’m thankful for the coaching staff, the recruiting coordinators, all of them. I think Florida is a great place.”
