Good News: Just In Florida Gators Commits Another 5-Star Top Talented Edge Rusher Superstar To Bolster Squad

Covington (GA) Alcovy 2025 edge rusher Tim Griffin has been gaining momentum on the recruiting trail, with recent offers from several high-profile programs, including Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, Cincinnati, and Tennessee Chattanooga. Among these, the Florida Gators extended their offer to Griffin last Friday, adding to the excitement of his recruitment.

The Gators had been monitoring Griffin closely after seeing his senior film, which caught their attention. Griffin had the opportunity to visit Gainesville for an unofficial trip during the weekend Florida hosted Texas A&M. Although there was no mention of an offer during his visit, the coaching staff made it clear he was on their radar. Just under a week after his visit, defensive line coach Gerald Chatman delivered the good news that Florida was officially offering him a scholarship.

Griffin reflected on the moment, explaining, “When I visited for their last home game, they didn’t mention anything about an offer, but they told me I was on their radar. They loved the film I’ve had as a senior, but wanted to see more of me throughout the season.” Griffin, who had been working hard to impress on the field, felt the breakthrough came after a standout performance the previous Thursday. “I had a really good game last Thursday. I feel like they saw a great player in me and recognized my potential. So they went ahead and pulled the trigger. I’m thankful for the coaching staff, the recruiting coordinators, all of them. I think Florida is a great place.”

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 255 pounds, Griffin is still in the early stages of building a relationship with Florida’s coaching staff. However, his recent visit to the campus gave him valuable face-to-face time with the staff, helping to strengthen those early connections.

Looking ahead, Griffin is considering taking an official visit to Florida later this season. As he continues to evaluate his options, it’s clear that the Gators have made a strong impression on the rising star. Florida, along with several other top programs, will be vying for Griffin’s commitment as he continues to navigate the recruitment process, and his upcoming official visits could play a crucial role in his decision.
