The Bruins have placed forward **Marc McLaughlin** on waivers, likely with plans to send him to the AHL. McLaughlin, a native of **North Billerica** and former **Boston College** player, has spent the majority of his pro career with **Providence**.

He has four goals in 14 NHL games for the Bruins. If he clears waivers, he is expected to return to Rhode Island for his fourth season.

After Sunday morning’s practice, head coach **Jim Montgomery** mentioned that the team hadn’t finalized its roster cuts.

McLaughlin’s move is likely just the beginning of several cuts to come in the following week. While McLaughlin hasn’t been a major offensive contributor in either the NHL or AHL, he is known for his defensive skills and has been a reliable bottom-six player. However, the Bruins have other players ahead of him in the depth chart for third and fourth line roles.
