Four-star offensive lineman Cortez Smith has officially committed to play football for the University of Georgia. Smith chose the Bulldogs over several other prominent programs, including South Carolina, Miami, and Georgia Tech. His decision adds to Georgia’s already strong 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked third in the nation following Smith’s commitment.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 310 pounds, Smith is a highly sought-after recruit from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia. He is regarded as one of the top offensive linemen in the 2025 class, ranked sixth among interior linemen nationwide. Smith is also ranked as the No. 16 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 132 overall prospect in the country. Given his size and skills, Smith is projected to play either offensive guard or center at the collegiate level.
Smith announced his commitment through social media, marking another significant win for Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and his recruiting team. The Bulldogs now have 21 commitments in their 2025 class, and Smith becomes the third offensive lineman to pledge to Georgia for that cycle. He joins fellow four-star linemen Mason Short and Dontrell Glover as key components of the Bulldogs’ future offensive line.
Georgia’s recruiting success continues to build on its dominant performance from the previous cycle, where the Bulldogs secured the No. 1 recruiting class for 2024. With Smith’s addition, the Bulldogs are strengthening their roster and setting the stage for continued excellence in college football.
