Breaking News: Just In, Cleveland Browns set to announce the departure of top experience players

It’s unfortunate for all of us Cleveland Browns fans that on Sunday we compared the 2024 NFL season to the winless one in 2017. The poll in that article received 500 votes, with 78% stating the start to this season was the worst of the two.

Cleveland Browns' Five Biggest Needs After Week 3 Revealed

Whether we accept it or not, the Browns’ season is finished.

While we will continue to publish club details on a weekly basis, we have begun to shift our focus to the 2025 NFL Draft. We’ve got you covered with Cleveland’s slotting and a 7-round Browns mock draft.

With the NFL trade deadline less than a month away, we also have identified the 11 untradeable (for a number of reasons) players on Cleveland’s roster and the six that could bring back the best return.

With WR Amari Cooper expected to be included in many NFL trade speculations, it is crucial to understand that his deal expires at the conclusion of the season, limiting what the Browns could receive in return. It’s also one of the reasons Browns General Manager Andrew Berry would be willing to trade the team’s top receiver.

Cleveland has a number of players who are eligible for NFL free agency at the end of the season. Not all of them will be on the trade block, but it’s important to note with the trade deadline approaching:

WR Amari Cooper OT Jedrick Wills RB Nick Chubb DL Quinton Jefferson QB Jameis Winston OL Nick Harris WR Elijah Moore TE Jordan Akins DL Maurice Hurst LB Devin Bush RB Nyheim Hines S Rodney McLeod – Plans to retire OL Michael Dunn OL Germain Ifedi CB Mike Ford OT Hakeem Adeniji WR/KR James Proche RB D’Onta Foreman OL James Hudson DL Sam Kamara LB Tony Fields TE Blake Whiteheart S D’Anthony Bell LB Winston Reid.

Given the structure of NFL contracts, most players might be released as well but the impact on the Browns wage cap has to be taken into account. Besides Chubb, who on the above list do you hope will remain in Cleveland in 2025 and, perhaps, beyond?
