Good News: Just In Les Snead Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Former Superbowl Winning Superstar To Bolstered Squad

The Los Angeles Rams have added cornerback  to their roster, claiming him off waivers from Washington. The team announced the move on Monday, concurrently releasing undrafted rookie defensive back Charles Woods to free up a spot.

Forbes, the 16th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was let go by the Commanders on Saturday, marking another disappointing outcome for one of their first-round picks during the tenure of former coach Ron Rivera. Forbes started 10 games in his rookie year but was benched mid-season. Under new Washington head coach Dan Quinn, his playing time diminished significantly. The Mississippi State product faced criticism for being undersized as an NFL defensive back, and his on-field performance did little to change that perception.

Despite these concerns, the Rams are giving Forbes an opportunity, hoping he can bolster their average pass defense. Darious Williams, who rejoined the Rams this season as a free agent and was part of their Super Bowl-winning squad, has been their most reliable cornerback.

However, he struggled in the team’s recent win over New Orleans. Meanwhile, Cobie Durant, a third-year player, has started all 12 games this season and recorded one interception.

The Rams have already made significant changes to their cornerback group this season, trading offseason acquisition Tre’Davious White to Baltimore in a seventh-round pick swap after the former Pro Bowler underperformed.

Woods, who appeared in nine games primarily on special teams, will no longer be with the team following the move. The Rams (6-6) are set to host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
