According to David Vassegh of AM570 radio, Teoscar Hernández is anticipated to be re-signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason.
On AM570 radio on Wednesday, Vassegh stated, “From what I understand, speaking with people around the league, they expect Teoscar Hernández to re-sign with the Dodgers.” Many leaguers anticipate that Teoscar Hernández and the Dodgers will reunite, and from what I understand, Teoscar and the Dodgers are actively negotiating the last terms of another contract.
“So, it appears that Teoscar Hernández and the Dodgers will be reunited soon.”
In 2024, Hernández’s first season with the Dodgers was a breakout one. Due to his market not working out as planned, the 32-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Dodgers last offseason. Thus, Hernández arrived in Los Angeles with the intention of making himself more valuable, and he succeeded.
Hernández batted in 99 runs and hit.272, including a career-high 33 home runs. In addition to helping L.A. make it to the postseason and win the World Series, he was named to the All-Star team, won the Home Run Derby, and received a Silver Slugger award.
With his tenacity, upbeat outlook, and lively nature, Hernández swiftly gained the affection of Los Angeles fans and became a fan favorite. Throughout the year, he also had some pivotal moments, such as in October, when he hit.250 with three home runs and an OPS of.750.
Any contract with Hernández will undoubtedly be a multi-year agreement, even though nothing has been formalized yet. Hernández turned down the Dodgers’ qualifying offer, which would have given him $21 million for a single season.
Going into the summer, The Athletic projected that Hernández would receive a three-year contract worth $69 million. According to Spotrac, the transaction would cost $71 million over three years.
All offseason, Hernández’s decision to re-sign with the Dodgers made sense because the outfielder made no secret of his desire to remain in Los Angeles after this season.
Hernández stated last month that he had “very high hopes” of re-signing with the Dodgers. “Obviously, the Dodgers are the top team, as I have stated. I’ll do all within my power to return.
According to Vassegh, a contract is almost finalized between the two parties. The Dodgers would most likely lose the Juan Soto sweepstakes if they signed a deal with Hernández.
