Steelers Official News: Omar Khan Officially Announced Departure Of Another Top Experienced Superstar

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a roster adjustment, waiving veteran running back , the team announced on Wednesday. This decision clears space on the active roster, likely paving the way for cornerback Cory Trice Jr. to return.

Trice, who has been practicing over the past three weeks, has yet to be activated as he reacclimates following a seven-week absence due to a hamstring injury. With the deadline looming tomorrow before practice, it appears increasingly likely the Steelers will activate him.

A seventh-round draft pick from Purdue, Trice missed his rookie season with a torn ACL. He began this year with promise, including his first career interception against the Denver Broncos, before the hamstring setback temporarily sidelined him.

As for Ward, the Steelers may look to re-sign him to their practice squad for running back depth. However, he must first clear waivers due to post-trade deadline regulations, even though he is a vested veteran. If Pittsburgh chooses to bring him back, they would need to release another player from the practice squad to make room.
