Auburn Tigers DL Enters Transfer Portal

The Auburn Tigers are seeing another roster change as freshman defensive lineman T.J. Lindsey has entered the transfer portal, becoming the eighth player from Auburn to seek a new program this offseason.

Lindsey, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman, joined Auburn as a four-star recruit in the 2024 class. Ranked No. 324 nationally and the No. 40 defensive lineman by 247Sports, he played his senior year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Lindsey was also the 12th-highest-rated player in Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class.

Despite his potential, Lindsey’s opportunities on the field were limited. He appeared in only one game this season, recording a single tackle during Auburn’s season-opening victory against Alabama A&M.

Competing for playing time, he was behind a deep defensive line rotation that included Malik Blocton, Keldric Faulk, Jayson Jones, Trill Carter, and Philip Blidi.

Lindsey’s transfer follows that of junior defensive lineman Gake Keys, who also entered the portal after a season in which he did not register any stats. Additionally, Auburn’s successful 2025 recruiting cycle for defensive linemen may have influenced Lindsey’s decision. The Tigers signed five players at the position, including five-star recruits Jared Smith and Malik Autry, bolstering their depth and competition up front.

This move highlights ongoing activity in Auburn’s transfer portal landscape, with eight players now seeking new opportunities. Lindsey will look to restart his collegiate career elsewhere.
