ESPN REPORT: Just In Another Top Talented 5-Star Defensive Back Superstar Officially Commits To Kansas State Football Over Alabama

Kansas State has secured a commitment from Mar’Quavious “Qua” Moss, a transfer defensive back from West Georgia, who will join the Wildcats for the 2025 season. Moss, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety from West Point, Ga., has three years of eligibility remaining. He played the 2023 season at Dodge City C.C. before transferring to West Georgia for the following campaign.

Moss’s visit to Kansas State last weekend played a key role in his decision, as he was drawn to the program’s atmosphere, from the football field to the people. He mentioned feeling at home during his visit and shared his excitement about the school.

During his lone season in the United Athletic Conference, Moss played the most snaps on his team (732) and posted the highest defensive grade among players with over 550 snaps, earning a PFF rating of 79.9. He was also the team’s fourth-leading tackler with 56 stops, and he excelled as a pass-rush specialist, ranking second on the team in tackles for loss (9) and sacks (4.5). Additionally, he earned an 80.7 pass-rush grade. Moss demonstrated his ability to cover downfield with a 76.1 coverage grade on 45 targets, including four pass breakups.

Moss also contributed to the return game, recording seven punt returns for 107 yards (15.3 yards per return) and two kickoff returns for 42 yards. He primarily played in the slot defensively and was a key rotational player for West Georgia.

Previously recruited by Kansas State in 2023 before deciding on Dodge City C.C., Moss entered the transfer portal in December and received offers from Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Tulane, and Virginia. Ultimately, he chose Kansas State over Nebraska and Tulane, attracted by the opportunity for development and to elevate his game to the next level.

With departures looming in the secondary, including Jordan Riley and Marques Sigle after the bowl game, Moss’s veteran experience provides an important boost for Kansas State’s defense. The Wildcats, seeking a strong presence alongside VJ Payne, will benefit from Moss’s leadership and versatility as they prepare for next season.
