Virginia Tech Adds DB Through Transfer Portal
The Virginia Tech Hokies continue to strengthen their secondary, announcing the addition of defensive back Joseph Reddish via the NCAA transfer portal. Head coach Brent Pry and his staff have been active, adding six new players last week, including three for the secondary.
On Monday, Reddish, previously at Wingate University, revealed his commitment to Virginia Tech. Notably, his younger brother, Quentin Reddish, is already a member of the Hokies as a freshman safety.
Joseph Reddish, a 6-foot, 190-pound cornerback from Charlotte, brings versatility and experience to the Hokies’ defensive unit. With three years of eligibility remaining, including a redshirt year, he offers long-term value. While he didn’t log any stats in 2023, Reddish played in 11 games during the 2024 season, contributing 33 tackles (two for loss), four interceptions, and 11 pass breakups.
His brother Quentin, who gained significant playing time as a true freshman in 2024, is expected to start at safety next season. The Reddish brothers now join an impressive group of new defensive backs, including transfers Sherrod Covil (Clemson), Tyson Flowers (Rice), and Isaiah Brown-Murray (East Carolina).
The addition of Joseph Reddish marks another boost for Virginia Tech’s secondary as the team prepares for the 2025 season. Hokies fans can look forward to seeing the Reddish brothers share the field, continuing a tradition of family connections in the program.
Welcome to Blacksburg, Joseph!
