ESPN REPORT: Just In Auburn Tigers Officially Announced The Signing Of Top Talented 5-Star QB

Top Talented 5-star  Commitment Reshapes Auburn Tigers’ Quarterback Room

The Auburn Tigers’ quarterback room is set to undergo significant changes in 2025 with the commitment of Deuce Knight, a standout from George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi. Knight, a former Notre Dame commit, announced his decision on Wednesday, giving Auburn a major boost in recruiting rankings.

Knight’s pledge wasn’t a shock for Auburn, as he had visited the campus multiple times since the summer. Growing up near Mobile, Alabama, Knight was within driving distance and attended several Auburn games, including an official visit last weekend.

Initially, Auburn targeted Juju Lewis of Carrollton, Georgia, for its 2025 quarterback class. However, the focus shifted to Knight after rumors of NIL-related issues with Lewis. Knight’s addition propelled Auburn to the No. 3 spot nationally in recruiting, trailing only Ohio State and Alabama and edging out SEC rivals like LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Knight’s commitment solidifies Auburn’s impressive 2025 recruiting class, which includes five offensive linemen, a running back, two tight ends, and a talented group of defenders. Knight’s presence could also attract top prospects like Caleb Cunningham and Andrew Babalola to join an already stellar lineup.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds, Knight brings athleticism and arm talent to Auburn’s quarterback competition. With current starter Payton Thorne departing after the 2024 season, the 2025 quarterback room will feature Hank Brown (RS sophomore), Holden Geriner (RS junior), Walker White (RS freshman), and Knight (true freshman).

Brown, despite some promising moments, struggled in his lone start, raising questions about his SEC readiness. Geriner, known for his athleticism and strong arm, faces a pivotal offseason as he approaches a potential fourth year. Meanwhile, White, a highly regarded recruit, has yet to see game action in 2024 but has shown potential in practices.

As for Knight, his physical tools and high ceiling position him as a strong contender for playing time. Whether he can rise quickly in the depth chart will depend on his development and opportunities during the offseason. Auburn fans eagerly await Knight’s arrival and the competition he’ll bring to a retooled quarterback room in 2025.
