The Dolphins lost 1-3 after Tua Tagovailoa missed four games early in the season due to a concussion, raising concerns about whether Tagovailoa would be able to play again this season or for the remainder of his career. The Dolphins appeared to be able to bring Tagovailoa back in time to salvage what appeared to be a lost season.

With six games left, Miami was 5-6 following Tagovailoa’s return. However, the injury bug soon returned, as Tagovailoa missed the victory over Cleveland in Week 17 due to a hip ailment. That victory was initiated by Tyler Huntley.

Even though Tagovailoa has a remote chance of making the playoffs, he now appears to believe that he is well enough to play in Week 18 and that it would be worthwhile to put him on the field against the Jets.

Indeed, I am irritated. I’m annoyed. During a press conference on Friday, Tagovailoa acknowledged that he was frustrated.

“Having to sit out when the season is at stake and you know you are capable of more is difficult for any competitor… I believe I’m okay with all of that when it comes to pain; it’s just that the physicians’ recommendations limit what I can accomplish. That’s what it is.
