Guerrero stated that he is open to negotiating an extension with the Blue Jays through the first full day of spring training during an appearance on Abriendo Sports. He did, however, add that the two parties are not near in negotiations and that he turned down an offer of about $340 million. Jim Bowden of The Athletic pushed the Blue Jays to offer Guerrero a 12-year contract worth $477 million instead of battling for him in free agency.

Bowden added, “Guerrero stated last month that he had rejected a $340 million offer from the Blue Jays, and while that’s a significant sum, it’s not even close to what he’d get in free agency.” “Big-market teams like the Rangers, Red Sox, Yankees, and Mets may be considering him.”
