Despite their flaws, the Jets had the third-ranked defense in the NFL at the end of 2024, and at least one mock draft suggests that New York should anticipate more of the same with its next first-round selection.

Rob Rang of Fox Sports claims that even though the Jets defense gave up 313.8 yards per game last season—the third-best total in the NFL—the team will still select 6-foot-3, 259-pound defensive end Abdul Carter of Penn State in the 2025 NFL Draft.
