Isaac Yiadom Reunites with Saints on Three-Year Deal

Veteran cornerback Isaac Yiadom is set to return to the New Orleans Saints after agreeing to a three-year contract, according to his agent.

The deal is valued at $9 million but could reach up to $10.5 million, with $4.86 million guaranteed, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Yiadom, who played for the Saints in 2023, spent last season with the San Francisco 49ers before opting to rejoin New Orleans.

Over his seven-year career, Yiadom has played for six different teams, experiencing varying levels of playing time. During his previous stint with the Saints, he saw a significant role, playing 47% of the team’s defensive snaps. With Paulson Adebo no longer on the roster, Yiadom could step into a starting role in 2025 and beyond.New Orleans Saints re-sign cornerback Isaac Yiadom to one-year contract

In 2023, the former third-round pick had a career-best 14 pass deflections and held opposing quarterbacks to a 48.9% completion rate. The Saints are hoping for a repeat of that strong performance. Having played on a series of one-year contracts—including a $3 million deal with the 49ers in 2024—Yiadom now secures a longer-term commitment while maintaining a similar annual salary.

The Saints’ secondary is undergoing a transition following the midseason trade of Marshon Lattimore in 2024 and Adebo’s departure. New Orleans will lean on 2024 second-round pick Kool-Aid McKinstry, who started nine games as a rookie, and newly signed safety Justin Reid to stabilize the unit.

Meanwhile, the 49ers’ secondary continues to take hits in free agency. San Francisco has already lost cornerback Charvarius Ward and safety Talanoa Hufanga, both of whom signed elsewhere. Yiadom, who started five games for the team last season, now joins that list of departures. The 49ers have signed Tre Brown in free agency, but further reinforcements may be necessary to bolster their defensive backfield.
