DEAL ACCEPTED: Green Bay Packers Secure veteran WR Mecole Hardman Jr From Kansas City Chiefs

Packers Sign Veteran WR Mecole Hardman Jr. from Chiefs

The Green Bay Packers have officially signed veteran wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., acquiring him from the Kansas City Chiefs. Hardman, who has spent six of his seven NFL seasons with the Chiefs, brings experience and speed to Green Bay’s receiving corps. The move comes after Hardman played a key role in Kansas City’s recent Super Bowl run. Now, he looks to make an impact with the Packers as they continue to develop their young offense.

Chariah Gordon recently took to social media to share a heartfelt farewell message with the wives and girlfriends of the Kansas City Chiefs players as her fiancé, Mecole Hardman Jr., prepared to move on from the team. With Hardman officially signing a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers, Gordon, 30, expressed her emotions by posting a collage of photos on Instagram on Wednesday, March 19, reminiscing about the bonds she formed with other Chiefs WAGs (wives and girlfriends). She captioned the post with a sentimental message, writing, “I’m really going to miss y’all.”Mecole Hardman, Jr. (@mecolehardman4) • Instagram photos and videos

The collection of images included several moments with Taylor Swift, the internationally renowned singer and the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. In one particular photo, Swift, 35, appears to be whispering something to Gordon while the two are seated together in a suite at a Chiefs game. Another snapshot showcases Swift wrapping her arm around Gordon as they pose affectionately for the camera, emphasizing the friendship that developed during their time supporting the team.

Hardman, 27, has been with the Chiefs for six of his seven professional seasons in the NFL. However, earlier this week, he made the decision to sign with the Green Bay Packers for the upcoming season. Hardman and Gordon have been together publicly since 2021, and their relationship has continued to grow over the years. In June 2024, they took a significant step forward by announcing their engagement. The couple has also expanded their family, welcoming a son in 2023 and a daughter in 2024. Now, as they prepare to transition to a new city, Gordon will have to adjust to a new support system outside of Kansas City.

Fortunately, the NFL has a well-connected community of wives and girlfriends who offer support to each other throughout the league. This was something that Kylie Kelce, the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, highlighted in a December 2024 episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast. Kylie, 32, shared how she once kept tabs on the significant others of Eagles players through social media when her husband was still playing in the league. She explained how crucial it was for the women to create a welcoming and supportive environment for new arrivals.

“We really found that the best way to do it was just be direct and say, ‘Hey, if you need anything, we’re here year-round,’” Kylie said on the podcast. “If there’s any way I can be of assistance or [anything] you need advice about or even if it’s just a restaurant recommendation, let me know.”

Kylie went on to elaborate on the importance of this network, emphasizing that it extends beyond just being there for the players. “There’s a very large web of women in the NFL, and I think the best thing they can do now is continue to weave the web and make sure the women feel supported and connected and can do that independently outside of their spouse or significant other,” she added. With Gordon now relocating to Green Bay, it’s likely she will find a new circle of support among the Packers’ WAGs, just as she did in Kansas City.

While the couple is focused on settling into their new home, they also have another major milestone ahead—wedding planning. In a February 2025 interview with The Knot, Hardman admitted that he and Gordon had temporarily put their wedding plans on hold as the Chiefs were advancing toward another Super Bowl appearance. The Chiefs had reached their fifth Super Bowl in six years but ultimately fell short, losing 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Now that the season has ended and with a new chapter in Green Bay approaching, Hardman and Gordon may need to reassess their wedding plans. Moving to a new city presents both logistical and emotional challenges, but the couple remains optimistic about their upcoming nuptials. Gordon, in particular, has a clear vision of what she wants for their big day.

“We want everyone to have a blast and create lasting memories,” Gordon shared. “We really want it to feel like a retreat. A place where we can just focus on each other and the people who mean the most to us. It’s going to be magical.”

Despite the changes in their personal and professional lives, Hardman and Gordon appear committed to making their wedding a special and unforgettable event. Their relationship has already endured the demands of the NFL, parenthood, and relocation, and they seem prepared to tackle whatever comes next together.

As Gordon bids farewell to Kansas City and the friendships she formed there, she will undoubtedly hold onto the cherished memories she made with the Chiefs WAGs. While change is never easy, her message on social media reflects both gratitude and hope for what lies ahead. With the strong support system that exists among the significant others of NFL players, Gordon can look forward to forging new friendships in Green Bay while maintaining the bonds she created in Kansas City.

Hardman’s move to the Packers marks a new era for the couple, but one thing remains certain—their love and commitment to each other remain strong. Whether it’s in Kansas City, Green Bay, or wherever Hardman’s football career may take them next, Gordon and Hardman are focused on building a life together filled with love, support, and memorable experiences.
