Latest NFL News: Blockbuster Move? Packers Poised to Land $20M Star from Panthers

The Carolina Panthers may be looking to trade veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney as they continue their rebuilding process. After finishing the 2025 season strong and making several defensive upgrades, Carolina is reportedly open to moving Clowney for additional draft capital.

NFL analyst Kristopher Knox views the Green Bay Packers as a potential destination, a move that could benefit both teams—giving the Panthers more draft picks while bolstering Green Bay’s pass rush.

Clowney has posted strong quarterback pressure rates of 13.4% and 16% over the past two seasons, but Carolina is only seeking a late Day 2 pick in return—a significant drop from the first-round value once expected of the former No. 1 overall pick. While productive, Clowney hasn’t fully lived up to his draft hype, which could impact his trade value.

The Panthers have already strengthened their defense this offseason by adding safety Tre’Von Moehrig and defensive linemen Bobby Brown III and Tershawn Wharton. With nine picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, Carolina appears focused on maximizing its draft assets for long-term growth.

As trade speculation builds, the Panthers could look to finalize a deal for Clowney before the draft, securing extra picks while refining their roster strategy. Sending Clowney to Green Bay would allow Carolina to leverage a veteran asset while staying committed to its rebuild.
