Lions’ Terrion Arnold Perfectly Roasts Packers During Draft Announcement
While Green Bay celebrated being chosen to host the 2025 NFL Draft, the event also gave NFC North rivals a chance to take some playful shots at the hometown Packers on stage.
First, WWE superstar and die-hard Chicago Bears fan Seth Rollins took a jab at Green Bay when announcing the 56th pick. Then, it was Detroit Lions defensive back Terrion Arnold’s turn as he stepped up to announce the 70th pick for Detroit. Arnold, who was selected by the Lions in the first round (No. 24 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, reflected on his own draft experience before delivering a sharp punchline at the Packers’ expense.
“One year ago this weekend, I cried,” Arnold said into the mic Friday night in Green Bay. “Because I thought I was going to be a Packer. But the kings of the NFC North came and saved me.” His comment drew boos from the Green Bay crowd, but Arnold quickly shifted focus back to business.
With the 70th pick, the Lions chose Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa. Detroit had acquired the pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars, trading away the 102nd pick along with two 2026 third-rounders. Along with TeSlaa, the Lions also picked up a sixth-rounder this year (No. 182) and a sixth-rounder for 2026.
