summer plan revealed ; Wolves forced to sell star player

Wolves may have to sell top player Pedro Neto this summer to free up finances for future acquisitions, according to Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, senior reporter Pete O’Rourke claimed that the Molineux club may have to go with one or two key players if they want to invest in the offseason.

Neto is expected to receive the most attention following his dramatic return from injury in the 2023-24 season.

The Portuguese international’s status is being monitored by Premier League and European teams.

Neto has three goals and ten assists in 17 games across all competitions this season.

Wolves want to keep him at Molineux but will have to sell to purchase big in the summer, a dilemma that many other Premier League teams face.

Last week (3 February), Football Insider stated that the Midlands club conducted negotiations about signing Yuri Alberto and Armando Broja in January but were unable to finalize the deals owing to their limited budget.

Gary O’Neil has had his hands constrained since his arrival last year (2023), but he remains completely patient and aware of the situation at Molineux.

Wolves sold Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, and Matheus Nunes in summer (2023), prompting Julen Lopetegui to quit the club.

All of these sales contributed to improve Molineux’s financial status.

Last month (January 23), Football Insider learned that the Midlands club is also considering bids for Joao Gomes following his outstanding start in the Premier League.

O’Neil’s squad is 10th in the top division league, with a 13-point lead above the relegation zone.
