Eddie Howe has disclosed two injury concerns for Callum Wilson and Jacob Murphy after Saturday night’s 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest.
Murphy was “unusable” after complaining of a “tight calf” in the warm-up, according to the manager, while Wilson has a muscular problem in his arm as a result of a late meeting with Moussa Niakhate.
When asked if Wilson was fine after the game, Howe replied, “A minor concern for us after the game. His shoulder is OK, but there appears to be an issue with the muscle in his arm. We hope it’s not serious, but we’re not sure.
Howe then explained why Murphy did not play a part, stating, “Jacob was unplayable today. He did not feel fantastic throughout the warm-up. We’re still facing issues. It was a great lift to see Anthony Gordon healthy and available after Howe appeared to rule him out on Friday, but Murphy and Wilson have both departed the City Ground with new injuries.
Hopefully, both will recuperate in time for next weekend’s match against Bournemouth at St James’ Park.
