Burnley duo Vincent Kompany and Lyle Foster feature in a list of the most influential black figures in English football

Along with Darren Moore, Liam Rosenior, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and other prominent Black characters in English football, the Burnley partnership is included in this list.

Eight categories make up the Football Black List: players, LGBTQ+, media, practitioners, community, coaching and management, commercial, and administration.

Additionally, there is the Ugo Ehiogu’s Ones To Watch list, which honors young, gifted individuals in the field under 30.
Kompany, one of just two black managers in the top division of England at the moment, is included in the coaching and management section with players like Hope Powell, Darren Moore, and Liam Rosenior.

Foster is named in addition to women’s players Nikita Parris and Jess Carter, as well as Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Leon Mann MBE, co-founder of the Football Black List, stated, “The Football Black List this year serves as a reminder of the positive contribution those of African and Caribbean heritage are making to the game both on and off the pitch.”

“However, we still face significant issues of under-representation that require urgent attention.”According to the Black Footballers Partnership, 43% of players in the Premier League are African American. However, diversity remains a problem in every other aspect of football, from the dugouts to the boardroom.
