According to AD in the Netherlands, top clubs are not only eyeing players but also talented executives and staff members, exemplified by Wes Beuvink, described as “a wonderful example.” The 25-year-old scout is set to depart FC Groningen for AC Milan on April 1, transitioning from his role where he has been since 2019, rising to head of scouting in 2020.
Recent years have seen some scrutiny of FC Groningen’s recruitment strategy, particularly following their relegation to the second division last season, although they are currently vying for promotion back to the top flight.
Beuvink joined Groningen without prior scouting experience, initially gaining attention through player analyses on social media. Nonetheless, Geoffrey Moncada, Milan’s chief scout and technical director, evidently recognizes his potential, as Beuvink is poised to join the Rossoneri’s operations at the beginning of next month.
