Because of his skill on the court and his upbeat demeanor off it, D.J. Burns has gained a lot of popularity in the collegiate basketball community.
Burns guided the NC State Wolfpack, ranked eleventh, to a 76-64 victory over the Duke Blue Devils, ranked fourth, on Sunday night. In order to pull off the shock, the 6-foot-9, 275-pound center scored a game-high 29 points.
After his incredible performance, it made sense that everyone wanted to talk to Burns. The fan-favorite big man took the time to thank his admirers, even though he could have ignored them and gone to celebrate with his colleagues.
Burns made a stop to snap pictures with the Dallas American Airlines Center security personnel.
Supporters of college basketball are applauding Burns for this elegant move.
“Giving thanks to the cheer squad and band, he poses for pictures with security at a venue he’s only been to a few days ago. It’s obvious that DJ Burns is one of those people that just gets it. With so many State supporters and graduates, we are going to have a cheerful office building tomorrow,” someone wrote.
“I adore it! ferocious opponent on the court. Scoff away. He is aware of the task,” remarked another.
Why are you not in love with this guy? Another said, “I believe that everyone in America who isn’t a part of the other three fan bases is rooting for the Wolfpack.”
In the Final Four, Burns and the Wolfpack will play Zach Edey and the top-seeded Purdue Boilermakers.
