LSU point guard Jalen Cook announces another Latest decision

LSU guard Jalen Cook, in a move that was somewhat anticipated, declared on Monday his intention to enter the NBA draft.

Back on March 4, Coach Matt McMahon disclosed that Cook, who previously excelled at Walker High School and transferred from Tulane, had been suspended due to not meeting the program’s standards.

"Coach harped on setting the tone defensively," Jalen Cook said after a 87-66 win over Lamar.

During the season, Cook was absent from the team for the final five games and only participated in 13 games overall. His eligibility was delayed by the NCAA as a result of transferring twice, causing him to miss the initial 10 games.

Despite averaging 15.6 points and 2.8 assists, the 6-foot point guard struggled in 10 Southeastern Conference matchups, tallying 21 assists against 29 turnovers. His shooting performance was subpar, with a field goal percentage of just 41.3%, including 32.5% from three-point range.
