Bruno Guimaraes has now sent another message about his future at Newcastle

Although Newcastle’s additions will be welcome after a remarkably quiet January transfer window, it is unclear how much of the budget is left over given the impending threat of FFP limitations.

After all, Eddie Howe has already forecast that the club may have challenges this summer, even with the millions—if not more—that owners PIF are willing to pay.

Newcastle’s standout player, Bruno Guimaraes, has been a subject of persistent transfer speculation away from St James’ Park.

Recent reports have indicated a heightened level of interest, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly growing more confident about securing the signature of the Brazilian international. Behind the scenes at Newcastle, there’s purportedly an acknowledgment that his departure might be necessary.

However, after marking his 100th appearance with a goal against Fulham last Saturday, Guimaraes expressed his wish to stay at Newcastle for an extended period.

Once again, Guimaraes has emphasized his desire to continue his journey on Tyneside.

Bruno Guimaraes sends new message about Newcastle future

The 26-year-old remarked, “I have no thoughts of the future,” in an interview with Globo Esporte. I give the here and now my whole focus.

“I’m really concentrated on that, on keeping the club’s dream of making it to a European tournament.” Here, I’m happy, and I’m happy. And ever since I joined the team, I’ve given that my whole attention.

Bruno Guimaraes might not be at Newcastle long – but this summer would feel early to leave

Guimaraes could have to depart at some time, especially if he wants to play Champions League games on a regular basis.

Nevertheless, it would be a huge shame to depart after such a challenging season.

Even though he only played in two full seasons of the PIF project—one of which was severely disrupted by injuries—leading the team back into European football in some way may be a nice parting present.

It would be a fantastic way to end his career on Tyneside if he could assist Newcastle return to the top four for one more season.

Although it’s encouraging to hear that he isn’t pursuing a move, with a £100 million release clause in place, that unfortunately does not mean much.
