Yankuba Minteh, on loan from Newcastle United, won his first major prize this past weekend with Feyenoord.
while he was on loan at Feyenoord.
The 19-year-old helped Feyenoord defeat NEC 1-0 at De Kuip on Sunday to win the KNVB Cup. The solitary goal of the match, which had two delays due to fireworks, was scored by Igor Paixao. Minteh then received his first red card of the season, putting the Dutch team on edge.
With just eighteen minutes of regular time left, Minteh was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in quick succession. Feyenoord managed to maintain their slim advantage and win the Dutch cup.
Since joining Feyenoord on loan from Newcastle last summer, Minteh has scored 10 goals in 34 games, including one in the Champions League. The Odense adolescent was acquired by the Magpies for approximately £7 million, after which he was promptly loaned away.
Although the winger hasn’t yet had a good opportunity to play or practice with Newcastle’s first team, head coach Eddie Howe and his staff will give him more consideration this summer following a strong season in the Netherlands.
Minteh is someone Feyenoord wants to keep for at least another season, but there are rumors that Newcastle would even contemplate selling the young player for a quick profit in light of PSR pressure.
The young player is the subject of a lot of excitement, but if he wants to advance in his career, Feyenoord reports indicate he still has a lot to learn and develop.

Manager of Feyenoord Arne Slot recently stated to Ziggo Sport/FR12: “He has played a lot in his home country, where tactics are not really used.” But when you’re that quick, it becomes a very powerful tool. He disappears after taking just one action, and you are unable to find him again.
“I believe that at the end, his selections are already becoming better. The only thing that irritates us is that he probably won’t play with us anymore if his choices get extremely excellent.
Minteh, who became the team’s first acquisition since the takeover in 2021, will return to Newcastle this summer in hopes of winning a significant prize. The Magpies are presently looking into pre-season options, and one of them might involve Minteh traveling to Japan.
