After Forest’s 2-0 loss to relegation-rival Everton on Sunday, the team claimed on X, previously Twitter, that referee Anthony Taylor and VAR official Stuart Attwell—who is purportedly a Luton Town supporter—should have handed them three penalties. The Tricky Trees are allegedly debating whether to file a lawsuit in response to Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville’s comment that the post was “like a mafia gang statement”. Forest was particularly displeased with the refereeing decisions, especially considering their precarious position just one point above the relegation zone, locked in a battle with Luton Town and Burnley. Adding to their woes, they were penalized four points for breaking financial regulations, a matter they are currently contesting. It might seem like the pressure is mounting for the Reds.
