Report: Nottingham Forest could soon be hit by £70m blow

Financial analyst Kieran Maguire believes that relegation to the Championship would “hit them hard,” as he exclusively revealed to Football Insider.

Forest is now one point above of Luton Town in the relegation zone in the Premier League standings, sitting in 17th place.

With three games left, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team can guarantee their spot in the Premier League.

The outcome of Forest’s appeal against a four-point deduction they were given earlier in the season is still pending.

If the club’s appeal is granted, they will aim to get back points.

Nottingham Forest could suffer £70m relegation blow

Maguire clarified that Forest’s earnings would plummet by £60–£70 million should they be relegated this season, resulting in a severe blow to the team.

“We are looking at somewhere in the region of a £60 to £70 million reduction in revenue if Forest are relegated,” Maguire said to Sean Fisher of Football Insider.

This will really get to them.

Over the course of the previous two seasons, they have incurred enormous costs to enter and remain in the Premier League.

Naturally, the owners, management, and supporters want to see Forest perform at its best.

“There are therefore both monetary and emotional costs.”

In other news, an update has emerged about Nottingham Forest’s “embarrassing” comment.
