Breaking News: Club director makes major transfer claim for Nottingham Forest exile

The most recent information about Nottingham Forest from NottinghamLive, as this former midfielder for Newcastle and Liverpool may be moving to a new neighborhood

Hasan Yavuz Bakır, the director of Çaykur Rizespor, is hoping to reach an agreement with Nottingham Forest so that Jonjo Shelvey stays with the Turkish team.

The 32-year-old has been with the Super Liga team since September, the same month that Steve Cooper bombed him out of the first team. Although Shelvey hasn’t played for Forest since April 23, he still contributes significantly to his current team.

This season, the former midfielder for Newcastle and Liverpool has made 29 league games, contributing six assists and two goals to Rizespor’s eighth-place finish.

The likelihood of Shevley being reintegrated appears slim, even with Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm of the City Ground—especially in light of the FFP computation. Given Hasan Yavuz Bakır’s expressed enthusiasm, relocating permanently to Turkey might be in everyone’s best interests.

“Jonjo Shelvey is content in Rize, and we are pleased with Shelvey’s performance,” the Turkish publication Ajansspor cites him as saying. Shelvey’s contract with his team, Nottingham Forest, is still in effect, though. In the event that funds become available, Shelvey will join our team.

Shelvey, whose contract is set to expire in January 2023, moved from Newcastle to Forest. He has only appeared in eight games for Forest overall, and the Premier League team for this season did not include him.
