Two touchdown receptions by Moss occurred in the 2020 National Championship Game.
Thornton Moss, a tight end with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL, has declared his retirement from sports.
Moss is only 25 years old and was a member of the LSU Tigers’ 2019 National Championship squad.
“Knowing when something is finished is always crucial. Whatever we name it—closing doors, closing circles, ending chapters—the important thing is to put those periods of life in the past. Moss expressed gratitude in his statement.
It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn't matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.
Thank You

Thaddeus Moss, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss, began his college career with the North Carolina State Wolfpack before transferring to LSU, where he played a pivotal role in winning the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship. During his lone season in Baton Rouge, Moss made 47 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns, with three of those touchdowns coming in the College Football Playoff.
In the Peach Bowl, Moss scored one touchdown in LSU’s dominant 63-21 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners. He then contributed two crucial scores in the 42-25 win against the Clemson Tigers. His first touchdown in the Clemson game came just before halftime, giving LSU an 11-point lead, while his second touchdown extended their lead to 10 points in the third quarter.
After his successful college season, Moss declared for the NFL Draft and signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent. However, injuries hampered his time with the team, leading to his eventual release. He then joined the Cincinnati Bengals but faced further injury setbacks, preventing him from making any appearances in NFL games.
Moss later found success in the 2023 USFL Championship with the Birmingham Stallions. However, he did not rejoin the team when it transitioned to the UFL for the 2024 season.
