The Vikings have confirmed two sensational star players have agreed to join the team.

An agreement has been reached by the Vikings with defensive tackle Jerry Tillery and receiver Trent Sherfield Sr.
EAGAN, Minn. The Vikings are strengthening their defensive and receiving lines.

Defensive lineman Jerry Tillery, a free agent, and receiver Trent Sherfield Sr. have reached an agreement, the team said on Thursday.

Tillery was a member of the Raiders the previous season, where he appeared in all 17 games, started six of them, and totaled 31 tackles, 2.0 sacks, two tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery.

With the 28th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Tillery was chosen by the Chargers to play his first three plus seasons in Los Angeles, where he started 29 out of 54 games. The Chargers waived Tillery in the middle of the 2022 season, and before Week 11, the Raiders claimed him off waivers.

Las Vegas released Tillery on Wednesday, the first day of the new league season.

Raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Tillery attended Evangel Christian Academy. As a senior, he registered 93 tackles and 7.0 sacks, earning him a spot in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Tillery pledged to attend Notre Dame to play football. He was supposed to play offensive tackle his rookie year, but that was changed to defensive tackle. He started three of the Irish’s twelve games that season, having started all but one of their games as a sophomore and amassing 37 tackles. Tillery was a full-time starter for his last two seasons at Notre Dame, where he finished with 84 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and 17.5 tackles for loss in 25 games.

Tillery graduated from the University of Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters with a degree in economics.

He had previously achieved career highs with 30 receptions for 417 yards and two scores in 2022 while playing with the Miami Dolphins.

Before joining the 49ers in 2021, Sherfield played for Arizona for his first three seasons. With nine receptions, he gained 87 yards and a touchdown.

The Vanderbilt alumnus Sherfield caught 19 catches for 210 yards and a score as an undrafted rookie in 2018. Over the next two seasons, he added nine catches for 130 yards, but he was unable to cross the end zone in 2019 or 2020.

Sherfield has 78 career receptions for 930 yards and five receiving touchdowns in addition to 1,031 special teams snaps. On special teams, he has also consistently contributed.

Sherfield concluded his collegiate career with 136 receptions for 1,869 yards, good for eighth place in school history in both categories. Sherfield was co-captain of Vanderbilt in 2017.
