Luka Doncic is expected to play for the Slovenian national team this summer, according to Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison, even if it means he will have to “fight through injuries.”
Harrison remarked, “You guys all know Luka, you see the way he moves.” “He was in pain.” He’s a fighter, though, so he will persevere despite all of those wounds. He is simply that way. He enjoys playing a lot. He clearly has multiple injuries spread throughout his body. You may observe how he runs and walks. But once more, he’s a warrior, so he’ll battle through it,” Harrison stated in reference to Doncic, as reported by Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints.
“I believe that representing his country on the international front is one of his greatest thrills. Therefore, I believe that he will most likely go outside and play for them as long as he can walk. That’s what I would anticipate,” he continued.
Luka Doncic was sidelined by a sprained ankle, a sore knee, and a thoracic (chest) contusion that required medication, all of which had an impact on his play as the Dallas Mavericks made an unexpected trip to the NBA Finals.
Luka Doncic enjoyed a productive campaign with the Dallas Mavericks
After 70 regular-season games, Luka Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, marking his career with the Dallas Mavericks. The 24-year-old point guard played in 22 playoff games and averaged 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.
Unfortunately for him and the Dallas Mavericks, they lost in five games to the Boston Celtics after defeating the Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference.
Luka Doncic provides Slovenia the best chance to punch their tickets to Paris when they compete in the Olympic qualifiers in July.
