Max Domi has reportedly agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Maple Leafs, while teammate Timothy Liljegren is also set to sign a two-year deal with Toronto.
According to Chris Johnston of the Athletic, Domi’s new contract carries an average annual value of approximately $3.75 million. The deal structure includes a combination of base salary and signing bonuses over the four years, with Domi also having a 13-team no-trade list.
Additionally, the Leafs announced they extended qualifying offers to Nick Robertson, Alex Steeves, and Conor Dewar, making them restricted free agents. However, they did not extend a qualifying offer to Noah Gregor, who will become an unrestricted free agent when the market opens.
Earlier in the month, Domi expressed his desire to stay with the Leafs during an event for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He acknowledged the uncertainty but emphasized his appreciation for wearing the Leafs jersey and his hope that negotiations would work out.
Meanwhile, Liljegren, who was a pending restricted free agent, is expected to have a $3 million cap hit for the upcoming season, as reported by Jonas Siegel of the Athletic. Last season, the 25-year-old defenseman earned $1.5 million and contributed three goals and 20 assists in 50 games for Toronto.
