The Dallas Mavericks began the summer with a move that most fans seemed to like: they acquired Quentin Grimes from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Tim Hardaway Jr. and three second-round picks.

The Mavs were linked to Grimes before the previous trade deadline, and his shooting, defensive ability, and potential will make him a fantastic fit in Dallas.

Though Grimes is still only 24 years old and has a bright future ahead of him if he keeps improving, Mavs supporters were concerned about the knee injury that limited Grimes to just six games for the Pistons after he was moved from the New York Knicks.

Quentin Grimes says he is ‘100 percent’ healthy

Muscle pain in his knee caused him to miss the most of his time in Detroit. Although Mavs supporters were concerned that the issue would last into the summer and hinder Grimes’ progress, Grimes dispelled any fears in his first press conference.

Grimes has assured everyone that his knee injury is fully healed and that he has been consistently working on his skills in the gym. His reassurance has been a relief for Mavs fans, and he is expected to perform at a high level once the regular season begins.

Next season, Grimes has the potential to significantly outperform Josh Green. His 3-point shooting, defense, and improved passing could quickly make him a fan favorite in Dallas. He is determined to enhance his playmaking skills and is fully committed to becoming an elite defender.

Grimes takes great pride in his defensive abilities and, like Naji Marshall and Klay Thompson, is eager to get started.
