The top-ranked team in the nation went into Saturday night’s away game against the Kentucky Wildcats: the Georgia Bulldogs. At one time in the contest, Georgia was under pressure from Kentucky, but the Bulldogs managed to pull away with a 13–12 victory away from the Wildcats.

In the Top 25 standings, Georgia fell from first to second place despite the victory over Kentucky. After defeating the UTSA Roadrunners 56-7 on Saturday night, the Texas Longhorns are now the best team in the nation.
Carson Beck, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, had a difficult game against Kentucky, only completing 15 of 24 passes for 160 yards. He did not intercept any passes or toss a touchdown. Beck made the plays when they were needed, but he will have to improve going up against more formidable opposition.
In the 2025 NFL Draft, Carson Beck is expected to be selected among the first picks. Tate Ratledge is the most recent ailment the Bulldogs have had to contend with this season. This season, Trevor Etienne and other players have sustained injuries.
Following the bye, Georgia will travel to play the 4 Alabama Crimson Tide in a repeat of the SEC Championship Game. For the remainder of the 2024 college football season, this will be the first of four difficult challenges for the Bulldogs.
The Georgia Bulldogs’ next toughest test will come on October 19 when they travel to play the 1 Texas Longhorns following their game against Alabama.
