After starting quarterback Quinn Ewers was injured against UTSA and backup quarterback Arch Manning was substituted, the college football world is clamoring for the Texas Longhorns to get embroiled in a quarterback controversy. Manning went on to score five touchdowns that day.

Finebaum even thinks Manning is capable of leading Texas to a national title. Finebaum said of Manning, “He proved that he can take this team to the national championship,” Sports Illustrated reports. “I am aware that Quinn Ewers has a great deal more experience than Arch Manning, but based on what I and everyone else witnessed on Saturday, I’m confident there isn’t much of a drop off. The experience gap is the only one.
