The Tampa Bay Bucs’ top two wide receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, were listed as injured going into their Week 4 battle against the Philadelphia Eagles, raising some doubts after a difficult Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Due to injuries to their knees and necks, respectively, both players were designated as limited participants throughout practice. Godwin has never been placed on an injury report before, even though Evans has been on them previously in the season for rest days.
Evans, who was allowed to play after just two receptions for 17 yards in last Sunday’s loss to the Broncos, will get two more practice opportunities. With six receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown, Godwin was more effective. He too has a few days to recuperate before an important game against the Eagles.
The injury report for the Buccaneers continues to grow
According to Josh Alper of NBC Sports, the Buccaneers’ injury list includes some more well-known players in addition to Evans and Godwin. Following their absence from the Broncos game, defensive tackle Vita Vea (knee) and right tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion) played with limited involvement. Their return would help the offensive line, which struggled last week, as well as the defense. The practice squad was also limited by injuries to defensive linemen William Gholston (knee) and Logan Hall (foot), left tackle Tristan Wirfs (knee), center Graham Barton (ankle), and running back Bucky Irving (hamstring).
