Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, commended his current group of receivers after their victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football for not being concerned about touchdowns or stats. Many interpreted Allen’s remarks as criticism of former Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs. In order to resolve a contract dispute and address on-field behavior, the Bills traded Diggs to the Houston Texans over the summer. Diggs was well-known for his theatrical antics, and he would get more dramatic anytime he thought the game didn’t give him enough targets. It appeared as though Allen was criticizing his old teammate following the Bills’ victory against the Jaguars.
After defeating Jacksonville, Allen remarked, “It’s a fun and wonderful thing when you got a bunch of guys that don’t care about the stats; they don’t care about the touchdowns.” “I believe that during practice, we’ve just had the attitude of, ‘Hey, let’s just win football games by doing things the right way.'” That is our current course of action.
The words appear to say more than they can. But Allen made the decision to set the record straight before Buffalo’s Sunday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens. This is what he said.
“I am aware that there are many people conversing online. Once more, I’m not attempting to undermine anyone,” Allen stated. “Everyone I’ve played with, I’ve liked. It’s not necessary to undermine one another in order to elevate one another. And at the moment, all we’re attempting to do is support one another while maintaining our unity as a team. Everyone in this facility shares our genuine concern for one another.
