The Atlanta Falcons run game put on a disappointing show overall, but Bijan Robinson had one outstanding run that evening. The Bucs had an answer for Atlanta’s running onslaught in the second half of the game, slowing down even Tyler Allgeier. Robinson, the team’s anticipated face of the franchise running back, has plenty of reason to be irritated or sidetracked after his frequent struggles this season.
Still, Robinson did not give up and managed to break a late run. More importantly, how many plays did Bijan Robinson allow Kirk Cousins to make? Even though the dearth of outstanding output is annoying, Robinson’s effort and heart are undeniable.
Rewind this game and observe how the diminutive pass protector functions, if someone were to do so. Despite the angst, his contributions are indisputable, whether it was taking off his helmet to protect his quarterback or affording Cousins enough time to unload the football.
As the Falcons work out their run game and try to get Bijan going, it’s these kinds of plays and attempts that will keep Robinson in the starting lineup.
