Game notes
Tonight’s matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Seattle Kraken brings two teams looking to build momentum, both coming off very different results yesterday. The Bruins will be riding high after their 3-0 shutout against the Flyers, hoping to carry that energy over as they wrap up a back-to-back at home. For the Kraken, this is also the second game of a back-to-back, but they’ll be looking to bounce back after a tough 3-0 loss to the Senators. The road trip has been challenging for Seattle, who are 1-3-1 in their last five games and 1-2-0 on this East Coast stretch so far.
Both teams will be fighting some fatigue, but with **David Pastrnak** and **Matty Beniers** each notching six points in their last five games, there should still be plenty of offensive talent on display. Special teams could play a big role tonight; the Kraken’s penalty kill has been solid at 82.9%, while the Bruins’ power play has been a point of weakness, ranking just 24th at 14.3%. If Boston can’t convert with the man advantage, Seattle might have the upper hand in key situations.
**Jeremy Swayman** is expected to be in net after **Joonas Korpisalo** recorded his first shutout as a Bruin yesterday. Swayman has had some ups and downs recently, but it’s hard to fault him entirely with defensive lapses affecting his numbers. Tonight could be a chance for the Bruins’ defense to tighten up in front of him and support their goaltending better.
The Bruins are still looking for some forwards, notably **Charlie Coyle** and **Pavel Zacha**, to step up offensively. Both have struggled to make an impact recently, and consistent contributions from them could add much-needed depth to Boston’s attack. Coach Jim Montgomery adjusted the lines yesterday, and those changes paid off, so it will be interesting to see if he sticks with them tonight to build some chemistry.
On a special note, Boston will celebrate **Jack Edwards** with a pregame ceremony, making it an extra memorable evening for fans at TD Garden.
