” I WILL LEAVE FOR HIM TO PLAY” Just In Another Top Talented Superstar Confirm He Wants To Leave Hokies Football Team

Virginia Tech suffered a major setback on Wednesday when prized four-star quarterback  announced his decommitment from the Hokies’ Class of 2026. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound junior from Nazareth, Pennsylvania, had committed to Virginia Tech and head coach Brent Pry in late June but has now decided to reopen his recruitment.

Falzone had been an active and enthusiastic commit, visiting the campus multiple times this fall and even helping recruit for his class. However, his decision to step away means he will never officially join the Hokies in Blacksburg. This loss is particularly painful for Virginia Tech, as Falzone is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in his class. He recently earned a four-star rating and has shown exceptional skill, passing for 2,136 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 743 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season.

The decision to decommit comes as Falzone continues to explore other options. He visited Ohio State last weekend to watch their victory over Indiana and has upcoming visits to Iowa and Syracuse. These visits, coupled with his growing list of offers from schools like Penn State and Wisconsin, indicate that his recruitment is gaining momentum.

In a statement, Falzone expressed gratitude to Virginia Tech’s staff and fans for their support during his commitment. “From day one, my family and I were treated with love and respect by the entire staff at Virginia Tech. I am deeply thankful to Coach Pry, Coach Bowen, and everyone in the Hokie family who believed in me and supported my development,” he said. Despite his respect for the program, Falzone decided that reopening his recruitment was the best choice for his future.

For Virginia Tech, losing Falzone is a significant blow. His potential made him a cornerstone of the Class of 2026, and his departure leaves a major gap in their future plans. While the Hokies already have commitments from Class of 2025 quarterbacks Kelden Ryan and AJ Brand, the loss of a highly-touted prospect like Falzone is a tough pill to swallow. As the program looks ahead, Pry and his staff must return to the recruiting trail to secure another top-tier quarterback to bolster their future.
