Raiders fans will chuckle at Davante Adams’ latest comments about his future

In mid-October, Davante Adams was reunited with Aaron Rodgers, his former quarterback in Green Bay, when the Las Vegas Raiders fulfilled his wish and moved him to the New York Jets. The Jets have only one more victory than the Raiders, so the move hasn’t helped them get out to a fast start.

It was time for the Raiders and Adams to part ways since Adams was not thrilled with them. In the 2022 offseason, the Raiders signed Adams to bring him back together with his former Fresno State quarterback, Derek Carr, and the two created magic. The honeymoon period ended when the Raiders benched Carr before the season started, even though Adams finished that 2022 season with over 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

Raiders fans can't help but roll their eyes at Davante Adams' latest comments

Despite the quarterback’s inconsistency, Adams stayed with the team in 2023 and produced strong numbers, but the damage had already been done. It became evident that this was no longer a match made in heaven when the 2024 season began and the Raiders still had a franchise quarterback capable of reliably getting the ball to Adams. That Raiders football chapter came to an end when Adams was moved.

Adams has 31 receptions for 344 yards and two scores in six starts with his new team. He recently said, “I would love to be a part of this football team,” indicating that he still sees a future with the team that traded for him. I adore these guys.

Davante Adams wants to continue playing for the Jets

During one of his many appearances on Up & Adams a few weeks ago, Adams discussed the move and stated that he had no regrets about getting sold to the Jets. Adams stated in that interview that he is ultimately pleased with the move because it allows him to play with Rodgers.

It’s difficult to think that Adams would be traded to a club that is just marginally better than the one he is currently on and yet continue to defend that choice, even though the Raiders aren’t exactly coasting through the season either. It’s hilarious to hear him keep saying things like “I’m glad this trade happened” and “I want to stay a Jet,” even though he’s obviously not going to publicly admit that he made a mistake.

Furthermore, who can say that the Jets will even want to retain Rodgers and Adams going ahead after firing both their general manager and head coach? Adams’ prospects of staying with the team are also likely to be low if Rodgers leaves, and it’s likely that a new coach and general manager will want to bring in their own quarterback.

Given that Adams desperately wanted to leave Las Vegas in order to connect with Rodgers, Raiders supporters are taking pleasure in watching this entire situation unfold. That isn’t going so well right now, is it?
