Sad News Report: Top Talented Fans Favorite Texas Longhorn Superstar Betray Longhorn And Join Rivals

Mississippi State has secured a commitment from former Texas Longhorns defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe, adding depth to their roster as they aim to rebound from a challenging 2024 season. The Bulldogs endured a tough year, finishing 2-10 with victories only against Eastern Kentucky and UMass. The season included significant losses, such as a double-digit defeat to Toledo at home and a 33-point loss to Arkansas.

Bledsoe, a former four-star recruit, struggled to make an impact during his time at Texas. In the 2024 season, he recorded just two tackles, both in a September game against UTSA. Over three seasons in Austin, Bledsoe totaled seven tackles and was unable to secure a consistent role in the Longhorns’ defensive line rotation.

Before his college career, Bledsoe was a standout at Marlin High School in Marlin, Texas. He was ranked as the No. 24 defensive lineman and the No. 28 overall player in Texas by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He received offers from several top programs, including Alabama, Arkansas, and Baylor, before ultimately committing to Texas.

Mississippi State’s defense is in dire need of reinforcements, as the unit finished the 2024 season ranked No. 127 in total defense. The Bulldogs allowed 35 or more points in six games, including conceding 41 points to Toledo. Bledsoe joins a group of six defensive players committed to the Bulldogs through the transfer portal, highlighting the team’s focus on bolstering its struggling defense.

In total, Mississippi State has added 11 players from the portal, with Bledsoe being one of the key acquisitions on defense. Another notable addition is former Florida State quarterback Luke Kromenhoek, who is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position immediately.

Bledsoe’s transfer provides him with a fresh start and an opportunity to contribute to a rebuilding Mississippi State program looking to turn things around in 2025.
