Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Niclas Füllkrug from Werder Bremen, with the striker putting pen to paper on a three year contract.
Edin Terzic has finally got the third striker he wanted, with Niclas Füllkrug joining Borussia Dortmund from Werder Bremen for a fee in the region of 15 million euros. The Black and Yellows have beaten competition from English Premier League side Fulham to bring in the 30 year old, who has signed a three year contract with the club.
According to reports, Füllkrug will earn an annual salary of six million euros at Borussia Dortmund. He becomes the club’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Ramy Bensebaini, Felix Nmecha, Marcel Sabitzer.
“Borussia Dortmund is a very special club,” Füllkrug said. “I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and want to be as successful as possible with this team. I can’t wait to see the stadium with its extraordinary fans as a BVB player.”
It has been a rather difficult transfer window for Borussia Dortmund, who lost Jude Bellingham, Raphael Guerreiro and Mahmoud Dahoud at the end of last season.
Those in charge will be hoping that the arrival of Füllkrug will improve the team up front. Borussia Dortmund managed to score just two goals in their opening two matches in the Bundesliga, and both goals had a measure of good fortune about them.

Niclas Füllkrug will be competing with Sebastien Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko for a spot in the starting XI, unless Edin Terzic decides to adopt a two-striker approach. The 30 year old played in a two-striker formation at Werder Bremen, and finished last season as the joint-top scorer in the Bundesliga.
